How I work
We will arrange an introductory telephone consultation during which we will discuss your specific needs, goal, timetable and how you would like to have the completed work returned to you (email, fax, courier, post…) You will be able to choose between two different service packages – pay-as-you-go or retainer.
Pay-as-you-go
This package is suitable if you only need ad-hoc assistance and are not sure how long this will be required for.
Retainer
If you would like to use my services on a more regular basis over a period of weeks or months, the retainer service package is more suited to your needs and this will guarantee my availability.
Confidentiality
Absolute discretion will be maintained at all times. All work undertaken will be kept in the strictest of confidence and will be saved and filed or destroyed as required. A confidentiality agreement is available upon request.
Secure FTP site for uploading
I run an FTP site to give clients the ability to upload documentation (Such as audio files) quickly and securely .
Agreement
Once you have chosen the service package that suits you, you will receive a copy of both Client Agreement and Terms and Conditions together with your personalized contract. The above documents must be signed by the client and returned prior to commencing any work.
Audio Transcription
It is generally accepted that we speak approximately four times faster than we write or read. Therefore you should allow 1 hour to transcribe 15 minutes of clearly recorded speech. I offer audio transcription services from micro-cassette or digital recording (Digital voice recording made with a digital dictaphone can be stored on your computer and sent to me via email as a ‘dss’ file).
Corrections
I will endeavour to make sure that any completed work has been proofread and is returned error-free. However final proofreading of all work undertaken is the responsibility of the client. Errors must be notified within 5 days of receipt of the completed work.
Fees
Work will be charged per the hour and have a minimum charge of 1 hour. A 30% deposit is due with the signed contract before work is undertaken. Full amount of any project may be required before work is undertaken.
Invoices are sent out once a month at the end of each month and payment is due within 10 days of invoice date.
